Montgomery County Minimum Wage Increase Goes Into Effect July 1, 2019

Montgomery County (MD) employers must be aware that effective July 1, 2019, the minimum wage for their employees increases to $12.50 per hour for businesses having 50 or fewer employees and $13.00 per hour for businesses with 51 or more employees.

It is a violation of the Maryland Wage & Hour law to not pay the minimum wage of your jurisdiction; and you should be aware that the penalties for underpaying an employee can be severe, in addition to the damages that could be awarded in a lawsuit.

Avoid lawsuits and penalties by making sure that your business is in compliance with wage and hour laws as well as the many other laws and regulations applicable to your business.
